memories from the images in your smartphone. We use AI and ML to identify
relevant images and then build small AV shows daily to enjoy and then share
with F&F. Initial app developed offshore and coming out of Alpha. We are now
hiring engineering staff to bring development onshore within the US and extend
the LifePath services. We offer an exciting product that is doing ‘good’ in
the world and expect we’ll realize tens of millions of users. We are doing
things very differently from Google or Apple. The company’s founder, J. Gerry
Purdy, Ph.D., got his Ph.D. in CS from Stanford and has worked many years in
AI and ML.
**POSITION SUMMARY**
LifePath is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI/ML Engineer specializing
in image organization and memory generation. As an integral member of our
team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our
advanced algorithms and models. Your primary responsibility will be to design
and implement machine learning solutions that automatically organize and
categorize images, recognize significant life events, and generate small
audiovisual shows for our users. This is a chance for the selected candidate
to truly use AI & ML to create a very enjoyable service for customers and
enables you to take your AI/ML skills to a new, higher level.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning algorithms and models to accurately classify and organize images on smartphones.
* Leverage deep learning techniques to automatically recognize and identify significant life moments, such as birthdays, vacations, weddings, and other special events, from the user's image collection.
* Build and enhance the algorithms responsible for generating small audiovisual shows based on identified life memories.
* Develop robust data preprocessing pipelines to clean, normalize, and transform raw image and audio data into suitable formats for training and inference.
* Perform feature engineering to extract meaningful features that capture the essence of different life memories.
* Establish rigorous evaluation methodologies to measure and optimize the performance of the algorithms, including metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and user satisfaction.
* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and related fields.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)**
* BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus
* Two or more years of experience in applying AI to practical and comprehensive technology
* solutions.
* Experience with ML, deep learning, TensorFlow, Python, NLP, facial recognition.
* Experience in program leadership, governance, and change enablement.
* Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
* Experience in REST API development, NoSQL database design, and RDBMS design and optimizations.
* Utilization of React/React Native cross platform development.
* Excellent oral and written skills and has presented at one or more conferences.
