Job Description
At Expero, we build complex software in challenging domains for expert users;
scientists, traders and engineers. These are not your normal applications and
our consultants work across a spectrum of technologies from graph databases,
enterprise infrastructure to reactive web applications on the front end.
Expero has its own design and UX team who create rich, interactive experiences
around the apps that we build.
Expero’s main base is in Houston & Austin, Texas but we’re a remote friendly
company with teams spread around the US and developers in the Canary Islands
and Romania.
We’re looking for US developers that enjoy building the backbone of an
application. Building and maintaining fast, complex systems serving a plethora
of requests are some of the types of challenges you’ll face. Finding creative
solutions while working under constraints and having your _back_ against the
ropes is what will excite you. Our data-rich applications demand a lot from
the server-side, and our backend developers excel at delivering robust and
optimized solutions. If this sounds like you, then we’re interested in finding

**Requirements**
* Strong working knowledge of Java, Scala, JavaScript, Python, or .NET
* Working with web and application servers
* The ability to understand multiple databases and the tradeoffs between them, and do data modeling in SQL or NoSQL databases
* Some experience in the cloud: AWS, GCP, etc
* Ability to write web services
* Comfortable with docker
* Experience with messaging systems
* Familiarity with traditional architectures, microservice architectures, event-driven architectures, and everything in between
* Occasional travel to meet new clients and solve problems with them (once that’s a thing again)
