##### Job Description :

**As an engineer at Cisco Defense Orchestrator, you will be working on one-
week sprints in a fast paced team to deliver a slick, fast, and consistent
security management and intelligence experience across the entire gamut of
Cisco security devices and services to our customers. You will:**

* **Participate as a technical contributor on a fast paced team of engineers involved in the development of Cisco Defense Orchestrator;**
* **Contribute to all phases of software development from requirement gathering through implementation, testing and maintaining multiple code modules;**
* **Meet aggressive project goals and schedules;**
* **Build innovative solutions for complex technical problems.**

**Who we are:**

**Cisco Defense Orchestrator (https://www.getcdo.com) is a SaaS product
deployed on a public cloud that centralizes security management across an
entire portfolio of firewalls and security solutions.**

**Starting out in 2014 with zero lines of code as an Alpha project (Cisco-
funded startup), we have moved fast, releasing new features to our customers
every week and going from 0 to over 3000 customers (including many household
names).**

**Our product has a distributed architecture with services written primarily
in Java and TypeScript, relying on a host of cloud-native technologies for
compute, storage and integration. It has an intuitive UI built on Angular
using MicroFrontEnd (MFE) design. Our core development team comprises multiple
scrum teams split across the UK, Israel, the United States, Europe and India.
Our scrum teams have a great degree of autonomy, and are encouraged to come up
with creative solutions to complex problems. We work on one-week sprints, with
fully automated CI and release into facsimiles of production multiple times a
day. We do not believe in silos — every developer is responsible for ensuring
their feature is tested at every level (from end-to-end to unit tests), and we
operate in a DevOps environment where developers with interest in learning to
run large, scalable cloud services are responsible for deploying and managing
our production environment on a rotational basis.**

**Who you are:**

**Required Experience and Skills**

* **3+years of software development experience in an industry setting in one or more languages with focus on data-structures and algorithms; involved in all aspects from design, implementation, automated testing and maintenance**
* **2+ years of experience working on large-scale back-end distributed systems**

**Desired Experience and Skills**

* **Technical proficiency in Java, with data-structures and algorithms**
* **Java is preferred as our primary backend services are built on it, but we acknowledge programming languages are tools**
* **Experience working in an iterative software development lifecycle, delivering value in increments**
* **Experience in one or more scripting languages, such as Shell, Ruby, Perl or Python**
* **Experience with DI frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot**
* **Experience with Terraform for infrastructure management**
* **Experience with working on public clouds - knowledge of cloud compute, messaging and storage technologies**

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the
projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not
including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect
base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses.
Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation
target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and
additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and
relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be
eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. The

U.S. employees have **access** to quality medical, dental and vision
insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-
term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing
offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year,
which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday.
Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have
access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without
tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give
back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock
through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their
base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-
based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target
for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance
exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times
the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based
sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay
up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of
performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
