Back-End Engineer
**Description**
Vibe Bio is reimagining a broken drug development pipeline by using data-
driven technology to swiftly evaluate and capitalize on high-potential funding
opportunities, propelling our portfolio companies towards value-generating
milestones. Vibe is seeking a Backend Engineer for our Product & Engineering
team. The Product & Engineering team works to create scalable, defect-free,
and intuitive experiences and the infrastructure required to support them, in
service of our drug development team’s needs. This role is responsible for
architecting and maintaining the data and APIs to support our clinical team's
workflows and begin building the structured project data we'll eventually
derive patterns and insights from.
This is a remote role. Our team is spread across the country! Extra points for
being located in the northeast US, since a large portion of our team is also
located there and it makes occasional (i.e. monthly or so) in-person
collaboration easier.

What You’ll Do (but is not limited to)
* Be an essential part of our founding product team, working closely with our Director of Product to build our first web app.
* Own our current backend, with an eye towards scalability & best practices, as well as identify the systems and standards we should integrate with or build ourselves.
* Architect scalable systems, implementation processes, and deployment pipelines
* Build a culture that minimizes development friction with investments in tooling, testing, engineering-owned devops, and peer support.
**Your Qualifications**
* 4–5 years of backend software engineering experience, ideally with experience in domain-driven design. Comfortable working in a highly dynamic remote startup environment with mission-driven teammates. We’re building something new—ideal candidates will be comfortable working with uncertainty and change.
* Experience building applications from the ground up, including making decisions about fundamental architecture.
* Passion for team- and process-building that emphasizes quality while centering both our users and our development team
