Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Account Executive to join StackShare! The AE
will work alongside our Founder/CEO to run a sales cycle for technical buyers
looking for a way to get a handle on tech sprawl inside their enterprise.

### About us

StackShare is building AI-powered Tech Stack Intelligence for enterprise-scale
companies with thousands of codebases. StackShare is a Series A-stage company
(raised $10M+ in total) that has built up a community of over one million
developers and an enterprise offering that's used by thousands of companies.
Our team is distributed across California, New York, and India. Our leadership
team has experience at Amazon, eBay, and Accenture and has been working
together at StackShare for over 4 years now. We value having a sense of
urgency, empathy, resourcefulness, taking ownership, and tactfulness.

Our mission is to make developers more productive by helping them learn about
technology through the people and companies they trust. Eventually, every
developer and CTO will check StackShare before making any technology decision.

### About the role

You’ll work with our Founder/CEO to drive the end-to-end sales process to
close [StackShare Enterprise](https://stackshare.io/enterprise) deals,
including outbounding leads, demo, proposal, and contract closing. You can
expect to:

* Source quality outbound sales pipeline from target accounts through prospecting and working with our outbound SDRs
* Schedule and conduct initial discovery calls
* Run demos with new prospects
* Manage a pipeline of high-velocity, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities using Salesforce
* Leverage best-practice sales methodologies such as MEDDICC and Challenger to close $40K-$250K enterprise SaaS contracts

**Why work at StackShare? Here are some of the reasons why we feel this is a
special opportunity for the right person:**

* Over [1,000 companies already use StackShare Enterprise](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220607005041/en/Over-1000-Engineering-Teams-Adopt-StackShare-Enterprise-To-Defeat-Tech-Sprawl)
* Public companies like [Tyler Technologies](https://stackshare.io/posts/tyler-technologies-saves-hundreds-of-engineering-hours-through-tech-stack-intelligence) use StackShare Enterprise to save time and money, which is especially relevant in today's market
* You'll be selling a product that most technical buyers have heard of (StackShare is a [Cloud 100 Rising Star](https://stackshare.io/posts/forbes-names-stackshare-a-rising-star-in-2019-cloud-100-list), has [1M+ developers](https://stackshare.io/one-million-developers) and an [active community](https://stackshare.io/feed/trending))
* You’ll be helping to create a brand new developer tools category (Tech Stack Intelligence), with a product that has no direct competitor
* You’ll report directly to [our CEO](https://www.forbes.com/sites/amyguttman/2019/05/24/meet-a-founder-transforming-how-software-is-bought/), who has personally helped close our first dozen enterprise customers, including three Fortune 500s
* You’ll have real input into product decisions and help drive product strategy by working closely with the leadership team

### About you

**Experience** :

* 2+ years experience selling SaaS at 5-6 figure ACVs
* 3-5 years total experience in sales roles
* Experience selling a SaaS product at an early-stage startup (Seed-Series B)
* Experience with outbound prospecting
* Experience navigating procurement processes including security review, legal, etc.
* Ability to resonate with a technical buyer (CTO, VP Eng) and a technical user
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

**Mindset** :

* Hunter mentality: you hold yourself accountable for producing your own deals and push the pace to exceed quota.
* Builder mindset: beyond selling, you’re signing up to help build a company. We’re excited about candidates who have demonstrated impact on the product, sales playbook, and the broader GTM motion.
* Grit: at an early stage startup, things are always changing. We’re looking for a candidate who thrives in an unpredictable environment and can tackle incredibly difficult challenges.

### How we'll reward you:

* Competitive pay and equity
* Fully remote
* Unlimited PTO and sick days
* Medical, dental, and vision insurance
* Home office budget (Apple equipment and anything else you need to be productive)

We’re a fully remote team. The well-being of StackSharers is very important to
us. If you tell us what you need to be happy and successful, we’ll try our
best to accommodate.

### What we’re building

StackShare is building AI-powered Tech Stack Intelligence for enterprise-scale
companies with thousands of codebases.

Like many open source companies, StackShare started out building a developer
community and then layered in an enterprise SaaS offering based on what the
community asked for. We’ve now built the world’s first [Tech Stack
Intelligence](https://stackshare.io/enterprise) solution to help large
companies defeat tech sprawl inside their organizations.

Sales professionals used to have no system to coordinate their efforts before
the CRM came along. They'd accidentally call the same leads, couldn't easily
track their funnel, and had no way to know who to talk to internally about
which customers. Similarly, while there are plenty of tools for developers to
manage and discuss code (GitLab, Stack Overflow, etc), engineers and
architects have had no system of record, let alone a system of intelligence,
to capture technology decisions.

StackShare is creating a new category of business software that every company
with developers will eventually need: tech stack intelligence. There’s no
other product in the market that compares. Our competition is Excel
spreadsheets, Confluence wikis, and Markdown files. Announced on stage at
GitHub’s annual conference in December 2020, the product is now gaining
adoption amongst large companies that already have a presence on StackShare.

Developer-driven software is projected to be a [$1 trillion
market](https://www.forbes.com/sites/glennsolomon/2020/06/23/why-developers-
are-fueling-the-next-1-trillion-software-wave/). Atlassian and GitHub have
built multi-billion dollar businesses by providing collaboration software for
technical teams, but they’ve left a gap in the market that StackShare is now
filling.

We’re supported by an amazing group of investors including

Rockwell](https://twitter.com/nicksrockwell), [Baron
Davis](https://twitter.com/BaronDavis), and engineers/leaders from GitHub,

If you want to be a part of creating something new that will eventually be
used by every company in the world that employs software developers, this
might be the right opportunity for you.
