**Role Overview**
We’re looking for a seasoned engineering leader who has experience scaling
development teams and high-growth products. In this role, you’ll be working
closely with the CTO, CEO, COO, and engineering team of 3 to ensure we scale
our team and consistently ship high-quality product that adds value to our
customers. You’ll be expected to spend about half of your time writing code
and contributing to the development of the product. The other half of your
time will be focused on technology strategy, engineering process development,
team collaboration, recruiting, etc.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop high-quality full-stack applications using Node.js, Next.js, React, Typescript. Participate in the full application development lifecycle including conception, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Design, implement and improve a scalable, efficient, and reliable technology infrastructure that supports rapid development and deployment without sacrificing product quality and stability. Develop internal team processes and best practices to ensure site uptime and a fast pace of development.
* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects in collaboration with the product team. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure our team builds against our agreed-upon best practices and ensure that projects are completed on time.
* Manage and scale the engineering team. Interview, hire, and onboard new members while also ensuring effective collaboration, mentorship, and development of individual team members. Set clear goals and expectations for the team, and provide regular feedback to drive continuous improvement.
* Work closely with other departments like Product, Design, Sales, Marketing and Operations to align engineering priorities with our larger company strategies. Contribute to and support cross-functional discussions and initiatives.
**Required Qualifications** :
* 10+ years of working full-time as an engineer or engineering lead
* Prior experience interviewing, hiring, and scaling engineering teams.
* Prior experience building and scaling technology infrastructure ranging from AWS resources to testing, quality assurance, and deployment infrastructure
* Prior experience in a variety of project scopes, from small to medium to large-scale applications.
* Strong expertise with the majority of our stack (Nodejs, Next.js, React, Vercel) and cloud infrastructure (vercel, AWS+terraform)
* Some familiarity with building and maintaining data pipelines.
* Ability to design and develop front-end and back-end web application architecture - state management, data model development, logic/view separation, styling, etc
* Demonstrates high-degree of craftsmanship in full-stack engineering and design. Software looks and feels beautiful.
* Ability to communicate ideas clearly and communicate effectively with engineering, design, product, and other stakeholders
* Adaptability and capability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
**Preferred Qualifications** :
* Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
* Familiarity with the ecommerce and sports betting industry.
