Wagmo is growing our product features, backend operations and the ways we
continue to service our customers to ensure we make pet wellness and care
available to all pets and pet parents. Our team has grown significantly in the
last year, and it's critical they have a great people and technical leader for
our engineering team to help continue to mentor them, assist with work
prioritization and guidance.
Our Tech Stack
Python and Go (Golang), Javascript, React, Next.js, Flutter, Google Cloud,
Kubernetes and host of other monitoring tools
What You'll Do
* Help get your engineers team get unstuck by answering technical questions or resolving challenges between the team
* Bring clarity combined with empathy to your role as a people leader
* Prioritize work, ensure requirements are effective for your team and for the business, and run the overall day to day of the team
* Write some code and being willing to get in the weeds when you need to help and to keep your skills sharp
* Actively be building your network, attending tech sessions, helping run Hackathons, meeting with candidates and actively recruiting
* There is always administrative work in any role, so you’ll still write emails, manage information and channels in slack with internal stakeholders and have lots of ‘other’ tasks where you help our your team and the company
What you’ll need to be successful
* 5+ years working in engineering with ideally 2+ years in a people leadership role
* Experience in our tech stack
* A leadership style where your actions are based in productive empathy, clarity, humility and transparency with the eye toward empowering people so they can and do perform well
* Like to be an over-communicator. We’re remote so communication is paramount.
* You see challenges as a challenge not a roadblock
* You are a source of calm, eliminating chaos for your team and making things less ambiguous so everyone knows the way forward
* A bent towards disruption of the status quo

What We Do
Wagmo is a new type of pet insurance company with a mission to make it easy
and affordable to be a better pet parent. Our flagship product is the Wagmo
Wellness plan, which helps pet parents save money on routine care and
preventative care for their pets. We have recently released Wagmo Insurance, a
radically simplified accident and illness pet insurance product designed to
protect the financial stability of pet parents while providing guidance and
support along the journey.
