**The position**
As an AV Technician, you'll be at the heat of the team bringing the latest Vay
technology to market. You will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance,
diagnostic and repair of our systems as well as the integration into our
vehicles and tele-drive stations fleet, making sure that our products
consistently meet safety and quality standards. You will work closely with our
engineering design team, our program managers and test operators to plan,
organize and execute the work. In this key role. You will be responsible for
the readiness of our fleet of vehicles and teledrive stations and work on
highly innovative products to enable our unique mobility service. We’re
revolutionizing the way that people get from point A to point B and this is
your chance to get in on the ground floor. You will be one of the first US-
based employees in one of the most exciting technology projects globally.
**Requirements**
* You are an experienced automotive mechanic, automotive mechatronics technician or automotive master craftsman with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant working experience (e.G. OEM workshops or factories, automotive Service Centers)
* You have reflashing and basic debugging/integration skills on mechatronic and/or electronic systems.
* You like to drive (and consider yourself a safe and responsible driver) Safety first, second and third.
* You have a driver's license and at least 2 years of driving experience.
* You are organized and well-structured.
* You are resilient and have a troubleshooting mind set.
* You work independently without much direction or instruction.
* You have a results-oriented and highly accurate working style, with the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
* You are able to travel to Germany for an initial period of training and from time to time according to company needs.
Nice to have:
* You have experience with autonomous vehicles incl. cameras, sensors, radars, etc.
* You have Google Workplace knowledge (e.g., G-Docs, Sheets, and or Slides)
* You have worked with GitHub, Python or other scripting languages
* You are a gamer and have experience with virtual racing, driving or flying simulators
**Responsibilities**
As vehicle technician:
* Assembly and test the Vay System components into our fleet of vehicles, teledrive stations and tele-driving centers
* Ensure vehicles, teledrive stations and tele-driving centers readiness and uptime through regular and extraordinary maintenance, hardware repairs and reworks as well as hardware inspections
* Be an advocate of safety and quality and make sure the production and integration processes are followed and fill-in/update the documentation required to release vehicles, tele-stations and tele-driving centers to the fleet
* Set up, maintain, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage following company checklists and procedures
* Be the contact person for third parties, scheduling and coordinating external vehicle maintenance process
* Maintain workshop space to a high professional level in terms of safety, efficiency, and cleanliness
* Support with inventory and logistics management
As safety-driver and tele-operator:
* Remotely drive vehicles to/from customers or transfer of vehicles within the operating area via a remote driving station.
* Perform test drives as a safety driver or teledriver according to test protocols.
