* _This role *_
Truckbase is looking for a Support Engineer who will work with our Engineering
and Operations teams to contribute to site reliability, incident
investigation, and resolution of customer-facing issues. This role will both
address technical issues and proactively improve our infrastructure to enhance
user experience and satisfaction.
Ideal candidates will be equally comfortable responding to client issues,
joining live customer calls, and developing quick solutions to production
issues. A successful Support Engineer will have moderate technical
capabilities, such as building Retool apps, using monitoring tools such as
Sentry, and scripting.
Prior technical support experience in a startup or growth-stage SaaS company
is a plus. Experience with and/or interest in site reliability engineering
(e.g., monitoring, automation, and performance optimization) is a plus, though
not required.
**Responsibilities**
* Serve as the first line of technical support, investigating and debugging issues.
* Use SQL queries and/or investigate application logs for debugging.
* Develop technical tools to resolve bugs and automate repetitive support tasks.
* Write bug reports and feature requests for product and engineering teams.
* Analyze support ticket and product usage data to identify areas for product improvement and better customer training.
* Provide support for operational issues, including on-call duties for critical system issues.
* Develop and implement automation to streamline the onboarding process using tools such as Retool, Postman, Excel macros, and Python.
* Contribute to production monitoring & alerting systems.
* Collaborate with engineering team to optimize performance and reliability.
* Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting and internal production support knowledge base.
**Qualifications**
* 3+ years of experience in technical support, site reliability, or related role
* Experience providing technical support for cloud applications running in AWS or similar environments
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and orally
* Nice to have: Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, Express.js, PostgreSQL, and Docker as well as monitoring tools such as Sentry and CloudWatch
* Nice to have: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash
