_We’re inviting experienced, senior infrastructure and development operations
engineers with generalist backend skills to join the core Tiptop team. We are
looking for an autonomous operator who is a highly motivated self-starter. Are
you a seasoned infra engineer with previous experience in a fast paced, blue
sky, startup environment who can solve problems from a blank slate? This is

**About Us**

At Tiptop, we’re building consumer and enterprise applications at the
intersection of e-commerce, fintech, and logistics that will change the way we
think about the concepts of buying, selling and ownership. We most recently
launched our [b2b e-commerce checkout product](https://tiptop.com) along with
full consumer trade-in plus pay in 4 experience. We're just getting started

**You Will**

* Ensure that all infrastructure and development environments are stable and operating efficiently for the entire engineering team.
* Be responsible for our up time and maintaining healthy operating systems and services.
* Solve complex challenges building software systems for products and verticals that we’re inventing as we work.
* Develop solid, scalable services that manage sensitive financial data and critical business logic.
* Contribute to the development of consumer facing experimentation and risk platforms.
* Have the opportunity to build and lead a team.

**You Have**

* 5+ years of experience as a software engineer architecting, building, launching, and maintaining end-to-end services from whiteboard to production.
* In depth, real world experience running and maintaining large services on GCP.
* Existing experience communicating and working with a distributed team of engineers.
* Proven experience leading and implementing complex infrastructure in a scalable way.
* Demonstrated ability turning business and product ideas into engineering solutions – you can go from zero to one.
* Strong CS fundamentals and programming experience in Go and Python.
* A desire to experiment, test assumptions, and challenge hypotheses rapidly.
* The ability to see complex problems as solvable challenges.

**Even Better**

* Deep experience of backend services that are needed to run e-commerce platforms and move money on the web.
* Passion for building, bias for action, and are excited by uncertainty.
* You are autonomous and adaptable – own the work, move fast, react quickly.
* Interest and ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
* Curiosity in evolving ML platforms, AI, and LLMs.
