**About the Job**
Thread Health is a digital health company dedicated to improving Teen and
Twenty Something Health. This is an overlooked area of Health and in many
cases the root of early stage preventative care.
So What Do We Do? Thread Health delivers virtual primary care, urgent care,
and health education for teens, twentysomethings, and their parents, mostly
through text.
What Is The Reasoning? Teens spend eight hours a day on their phones, texts
have a 98 percent open rate, and parents need a better / accessible solution
to health care as they prep their kids for adulthood. Thread Health lowers
communication barriers through text that prevent common conditions from being
solved quickly (ex. cold, acne), health risks from being addressed (ex.
nutrition, family history), and health education of patients / parents. Text
is significantly cheaper and more convenient than video visits / in-person
visits, and is also searchable, reference-able, and secure.
We believe that answering teens’ questions in the moment is the change the
health industry needs to reach teens and support parents.
**The Role**
We are looking for Part Time Pediatricians and Family Medicine Practitioners
who are passionate and have experience in Teen Care. In this role, you will be
seeing patients and their guardians through text, voice, and video. Your
contributions will be critical in scaling Thread Health and in providing
feedback for Product Development. The role is part time to start but expect
hours to increase over time, just like opening a physical practice.
**What you will do**
* Provide text-based teen and guardian clinical care that includes common issues, high risks, health education, and patient follow-up
* Support visits ranging from a common cold to sexual health and acute mental health support
* Show empathy, patience, and clinical understanding to patients and parents
* Set the standard for text-based teen and twenty-something care, provide input into the company's long term objectives and changing teen, parent, and doctor communication
* Improve Adolescent Care!
**What experience we are hoping for**
* Board Certified Physician with proven experience in Adolescent Care
* State Licensure in NY and CA preferred
* Tech Savvy, ready to use technology to improve access to care
