**The Post** is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead engineering efforts and
delivery. The Post is a start-up dedicated to supporting athletes in the
business world beyond their athletic careers.
The Post supports a handful of applications across web and mobile, and this
position will be responsible for code and process ownership. Working closely
with the VP of Product, the Engineering Manager is expected to:
1. Own engineering and development across iOS, web, cloud (Firebase & GCP), and third-party SAAS solutions.
2. Dive into internal and partner documentation and understand how each service is meant to be owned and implemented.
3. Roll up your sleeves and deliver code on time and with polish. You will inherit a codebase that will become yours to own, operate, and grow.
4. Lead and implement process and infrastructure changes as deemed fit. If there’s a better way, let’s do it.
5. Keep up with the best practices and leading-edge technology to stay modern and relevant.
6. Always build with an eye towards scale. The Post is growing rapidly and building to scale is key to our success.
7. Document processes and technology diligently, so that we can stay agile during our growth.
**Professional Experience and Qualifications**
* You have at least five years of professional engineering experience.
* Management experience overseeing code reviews/PRs, gitflow, and end-to-end delivery of a product/application.
* Direct experience managing offshore development resources.
**You are an expert in some of, and familiar with all of the following
technologies (by importance):**
* iOS
* Restful / SOAP API suites
* Firebase/GCP or other Backend as a Service solutions
* ReactJS / TypeScript
* HTML/CSS
* CI/CD Configuration
* Postman
* noSQL
* Development experience in the following functions preferred:
* Social networking (chat/messaging/profiles)
* Hospitality management
* Directory/Search
* Event Management
* Experience creating a culture of software process and planning, either in a Scrum or ShapeUp philosophy.
**Extra Points if:**
* You are a former college or professional athlete
* You speak Spanish
* You live on the East Coast and are willing to travel to NY on occasion (~5-10%).
