The successful incumbent will thrive in a rapidly changing technology
landscape where daily communication, interaction, and sharing of ideas with
peers and collaborators are essential for success. This position requires a
high level of interest in biology, genomics, and systems biology, a desire to
learn about systems biology in the context of addiction science, and a
willingness to collaborate with team members with diverse backgrounds and
expertise. The incumbent will collaborate with team members on manuscripts for
publication and have the opportunity to lead manuscripts and present at
workshops and conferences.
The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience and a BS or higher
degree in computational biology, computer science, bioinformatics, or a
related degree. Prior work experience in developing algorithms for systems
genetics applications are a plus. Excellent oral and written communication
skills are required.
##### **Key Responsibilities:**
* Participate in project implementation of hi-quality from aims to execution with supervision from project sponsors/PIs and project leads and contribute to the publication of applications.
##### **Qualifications:**
* BS or a higher degree in computer science or bioinformatics, or significant prior work experience in writing programs for scientific research.
* Holds 0-3 years of experience
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
* Background in genetics, genomics, and biology and/or eagerness to learn these sciences
* The successful candidate will have working familiarity with a majority of the following technologies: Python, JavaScript, HTML5, JSON, Java, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Flask, web-services.
* Experience in specialized areas such as web and user interface design and development and excellent knowledge of broad range of software engineering methodologies, technologies and scientific applications.
