Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) - Blockchain
**Company Overview** :
The Ferret Institute is building what Daniel Schmachtenberger has called the
3rd attractor. There is the assumption that the world is headed for three
possible outcomes:
1) Centralized dystopia – one centralized system that is able to coordinate
most, if not all, aspects of society by a select few that hold the power –a
central bank digital currency (CBDC)
2) Decentralized global destruction –a mad max (with AI) type world – bitcoin
doesn’t work because we can’t keep the lights on
3) The 3rd attractor – a blockchain economy based on attention, Maslow’s
hierarchy, it will incentivize playing the infinite game; it provides global
coordination and isn’t capturable by a centralized party.
Starting with the five known things in the universe: time, space, matter,
energy, and attention. Build a new economic system from there up. We don’t
fully have the answer yet but are looking to assemble a team to help finalize
the plan and put it into action. We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to help drive the technical strategy and lead
our development team.
**Position Overview** :
As the CTO of The Ferret Institute you will be responsible for shaping and
executing our technology roadmap. You will play a pivotal role in defining our
technical architecture, overseeing the development of blockchain solutions,
and ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of our systems. The
ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of blockchain technologies, a
proven track record of successful implementations, and the ability to lead and
inspire a high-performing technical team.
**Key Responsibilities** :
Technical Leadership:
Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of blockchain
initiatives.
Drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our blockchain
solutions.
Blockchain Development:
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of blockchain protocols
and smart contracts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate blockchain technology
into existing systems and applications.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a talented team of blockchain developers and engineers.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Research and Innovation:
Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies in blockchain and
distributed ledger technology.
Identify opportunities for innovation and lead research initiatives to explore
new blockchain solutions.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure the security and compliance of blockchain systems, including privacy,
data protection, and regulatory requirements.
Implement best practices for securing blockchain networks and transactions.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other leadership team members to align technical strategy
with overall goals.
Work closely with product management to translate requirements into technical
solutions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CTO or in a senior technical leadership role.
Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining blockchain
solutions.
Strong programming skills
In-depth knowledge of blockchain platforms, consensus algorithms, and smart
contract development.
Experience with cryptographic protocols, security, and privacy.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related
field/experience.
