Job Description

At Tactable, we’re building the next world-class cloud engineering firm out of
Canada — servicing companies who are building/migrating products in the cloud.
We develop new products end-to-end, migrate legacy solutions to the cloud, and
everything in between.

We’re a remote-first company, and have been around since 2017 building
products for the likes of Shopify, Walmart, Rakuten and many others.

As an Engineering Manager at Tactable, your job will be to build and lead
engineering teams as we grow our company.

Let’s dive in.

**Why this is a dream opportunity for the right person**

As a Senior Engineering Manager in a growing startup agency, you will play a
critical role in helping unleash the talent of multiple teams across our
growing organization. Engineering culture is extremely important to us at
Tactable.

Not to mention that your work will create real-world impact on a number of
projects that make a difference in our clients’ end-users’ lives.

If you’re still excited after reading that, let’s get into the details.

**What you’ll do**

* Improve internal engineering processes to continue to improve team effectiveness
* Work with our management team to deliver against ambitious roadmaps for our clients, and build the company
* Build, manage, and retain teams of engineers within the company

Ultimately, we are looking for a player-coach engineer. You’ll both be writing
code and managing engineering teams.

**Who we’re looking for**

* You have strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities. You can demonstrate a track record of making your engineering team better
* You have a desire to learn the nitty-gritty of new technologies, discuss new ideas, and work collaboratively with a team of engineers to build cool stuff
* You have a strong entrepreneurial instinct and a get-it-done attitude. We love people who just have a knack for figuring things out — you embrace challenges! You’re looking to grow an organization like ours and are excited about scaling a growing company even further.
* 7+ years of experience in a software engineering role (i.e. software, systems, architecture) 2+ years carrying out Engineering Manager responsibilities

**Work Environment & Benefits**

Here’s what you’ll get if you join Tactable:

* Competitive compensation. We want to hire the best people, and we’re ready to pay for them.
* Direct collaboration with Leadership. You will be working hands-on with the senior leadership team in implementing better ways to keep building the company better, and bigger
* You’ll be working with a diverse team from a range of backgrounds. We work hard to make Tactable a friendly and inclusive workplace for everyone.
* We have a rapidly growing base of big-deal clients who they themselves have large amounts of customers. Your work will be seen and appreciated by many people.
* Great benefits including three weeks paid vacation (plus another week during the December holidays), health coverage, professional development, and more.

If you want to be part of a smart, nimble (to not say agile), motivated team
working hard to build something great, apply to join Tactable!

We’ve been around since 2017, and are focused on building a world-class cloud
engineering firm.

If that sounds like something you want to be part of, we want to hear from
you.

**About the hiring process**

Interested in joining? Great!

Your time is just as valuable to us as it is to you. If you’re the right
candidate we’ll move you through the process as fast as you’re comfortable
with. We do our best to maintain transparency throughout the entire process,
so you always know exactly where you stand.

We’re looking forward to reviewing your application and getting to know you!
