We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Python, AWS, and
PostgreSQL to join our high-performing AI/ML team. The ideal candidate will
have a strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, with experience in
Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and cloud networking as a plus. We template our
infrastructure with AWS CDK, so experience with CDK would be valuable. In this
role, you will be responsible for templating and maintaining AWS-based
resources, improving devops, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain scalable and reliable IaC code with AWS CDK
* Optimize application performance by leveraging Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and other relevant technologies when appropriate
* Maintain a strong understanding of cloud networking concepts to ensure the security and efficiency of our infrastructure
* Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality software development
* Improve devops pipelines for a high-performing AI/ML team
* Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to create innovative solutions that meet business requirements
* Continuously improve code quality and promote best practices throughout the team
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our solutions remain relevant and competitive
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* 3+ years of experience in software development using Python
* Proven experience with AWS services such as RDS, API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch
* Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience in database schema design
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to technical audiences
Nice-to-Haves:
* Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
* Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and technologies
* Familiarity with AWS CDK
* Knowledge of AWS Governance services (Control Tower, CloudTrail, etc)
