systems, and the ability to work in a team of 3-6 engineers in a fast-paced

**The Team**
Our Product and Engineering team builds and maintains complex digital
solutions for real estate organizations and their residents. The solutions
that you work on will solve business challenges that cross socioeconomic lines
and geographies, with the end goal of creating a more rewarding rental
experience for everyone. We hire engineers with full stack skillsets who want
to work on creating novel solutions that scale worldwide while ensuring
reliability and security.
**Responsibilities**
* Execute on the engineering team’s projects, priorities, and mission. Model the Stake’s Engineering organizational priorities. Own key metrics and objectives to get there.
* Lead by example as you develop and execute on the Engineering organization’s vision, technical strategy and roadmap. Write lots of code!
* Scope, estimate, build, and maintain new backend endpoints, data pipelines, automated tests, monitoring and logging tools, and more.
* Drive the design, delivery, deployment, and maintenance of the software systems supporting Stake’s mobile app, web dashboard, and underlying platform, including CI/CD pipelines.
* Identify gaps in our existing codebase, system architecture, development processes, and products. Lead the charge to fix them, and help other engineers do the same.
* Teach other individual engineers how to be better than they were yesterday. Review their code to ensure it is secure, efficient, and maintainable.
**Qualifications**
5+ years of previous engineering experience building and maintaining backend
infrastructure (Flask services deployed on Heroku) and the data pipelines they
depend on (pandas, SQL, Postgres, Google BigQuery)
You prefer to work in a hyper-growth startup environment

* You’re comfortable being the solo individual contributor leading the way to build and maintain complex enterprise data workflows and API’s
**Interview Process**
1.) 30 minute initial Zoom interview with the hiring manager and other members
of the Stake Engineering team
2.) 1 hour in depth technical interview with the hiring manager and Stake’s
Head of Engineering
3.) Hands on technical coding assessment.
4.) Phone call to answer any final questions you may have, as the candidate,
if necessary.

* Base Salary: $130,000 - $150,000

**Location**
We are a remote-first company, so you are free to work wherever you like. We
have offices in Seattle and New York and we offer relocation assistance if you
would like to relocate. Preference will be given to Seattle area candidates
since a good portion of our engineering team is located there.
