We are seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting to join our growing
**fully remote** finance team, preferably with experience in a mid-stage
FinTech company, payments, and/or a financial services company. You will
report to the CFO and run the daily accounting operations at SoLo Funds. As
Manager of Accounting, you will lead the processing of daily transactions,
ensuring a high level of accuracy and accountability to facilitate a quick
month-end close. As part of the close, you’ll also maintain accounting
schedules, prepare journal entries, and perform reconciliations to ensure
clean and accurate financials (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements)
that position SoLo Funds most accurately and efficiently for internal and
external stakeholders. You’ll work closely with the CFO to polish and scale
our back office including exposure to FP&A work, when time allows. Specific
areas this role will have direct exposure to include revenue recognition and
management, cost of sales, accounts payable, cash management, along with debt
& equity accounts. There is also potential to hire and grow your own team
within the next 12-24 months, as the business continues to aggressively
expand.

time. We are headquartered in Los Angeles but will accept candidates from the
major cities on both coasts.**
**What You 'll Do**
* Roll your sleeves up and get into the details initially, while displaying the ability to lead as the team grows in line with business expansion
* Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency, while maintaining accuracy
* Take responsibility for accounts payable, revenue, cash reconciliations, general ledger, payroll, and prepaid expenses
* Manage the preparation of monthly financial reporting for management including tie-outs to underlying detail, supporting schedules and analytics
* Perform and validate technical research on accounting issues
* Interact with other departments to assist with performance improvement, develop action plans and meet established timelines while understanding deliverables & dependencies
* Coordinate audits and fulfill external stakeholder reporting requirements
* Co-lead annual income tax filing process
* Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses core to SoLo’s financial statements and/or business
**You’re a Great Fit if You Have:**
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MBA a plus
* 5+ years of audit/public accounting experience with desire for a Controller career path
* CPA designation or displayed involvement in process of earning a CPA
* QuickBooks experience a must
* East coast preferred (Philadelphia a plus) but open to all in this remote role
* A strong technical background and understanding of GAAP
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, high sense of urgency, integrity, and dependability
* Experience with transactional/usage based business over SaaS
* Experience in Fintech accounting, lending/payments reconciliation, financial reporting, and performance measurement
* Leadership experience overseeing accounting teams and third-party service providers
