We’re looking to hire a Database Administrator as a direct hire. Smarter
Contact is a growing SaaS with a text and voice messaging CRM platform for
real estate professionals serving US customers.
You will have plenty of training and collaboration with colleagues to
guarantee your success in this role. You’ll be joining an established R&D team
developing products and services our customers love.
As we are growing our market presence we are looking for a senior database
administrator/architect to optimize our backend data infrastructure
resiliency, scalability, and accessibility. This is a contract position with
the potential to convert.
**The Work:**
* Work with the senior engineering team to understand the current environment and database design, implementation, data sets, and behaviors
* Identify infrastructure, database, tables, and internal process improvements and create a plan of action to resolve
* Re-design infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
* Assemble, analyze and organize complex data sets to address business requirements
* Provide guidance, hands-on development, and operational support for the deployment of database scripts and changes across multiple environments (development, staging, production)
* Drive runtime analytics - measure, monitor, and report on data and data operations
**The Requirements:**
* A degree in information technology, computer science, or similar field
* 8+ years of experience as a Senior DBA
* In-depth knowledge of current and emerging data technologies, with a focus on SaaS and cloud-based solutions
* Excellent communication skills and requirements elicitation, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including but not limited to Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL
* In-depth knowledge of Postgres database management, including database design, deployment, optimization, and maintenance
* Hands on experience in SQL query design and implementation
* Expert knowledge in SQL performance tuning and query optimization by indexing, partitioning and denormalization
* Architectural proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, distributed data systems for multiple environments
* Familiarity with working in Agile development environments
**Nice to Have**
* Knowledge of NodeJS and TypeScript, our core tech stack
* Prior experience in the messaging space
* Worked for a fast moving startup
