Job Description

**We 're looking for a tech co-founder (not an employee)** who has the drive
to solve the globally menacing problem of manual work (data entry, making
instant decisions, clicking buttons) in the world of logistics via automation.

**The problem we 're solving**
For SMBs, middle and last mile shipping is expensive, highly manual and has
poor customer experience. Incorrect quotes, double handling of data,
unexpected accessorial charges, on-demand warehouse decisions and the need of
more humans; are some of the everyday problems of shipping.

* Selecting the wrong carrier or service for the shipment type or the customer can cost businesses up to 3 times higher.
* 46% of shipping is still done via spreadsheets and can cost $4.50 more for every manual shipment.
* 77% buyers abandon a purchase if they see high or unsatisfactory shipping costs. Businesses constantly struggle with accurate shipping rates and extra charges.

**The solution we 're proposing**
Automation first approach make decisions around shipping rates, packaging and
dispatch with little to no human touch. If you’d like to understand the first
version of our product with a high level concept, call it Zapier for shipping.

**What 's so special?**
While everyone is building bigger and feature loaded Transport Management
Systems which SMB's cannot afford in cost and complexity. Our goal is to keep
things simple, build a workflow engine to replace the need of a TMS at all and
to stay true to our roadmap to create a platform for businesses to scale their
shipping and grow globally.

**Who are we for?**
Our target market is small to medium sized businesses, say up to $50mm
turnover annually that have at least one warehouse and ship satchels, cartons,
pallets to businesses or direct to customers. We will start targeting specific
segments like auto parts, electrical components, medical equipment, furniture
and the home and garden.

**Responsibilities**

* Own the technology roadmap and deliver the first version of the product based on the product design via hands-on product development.
* Develop a robust and scalable system architecture right from the start.
* Hire and manage freelance/contract engineers to get the jobs that are to be done by them.
* Ensure the product is built, tested, deployed and released with quality on the cloud.
* Ensure that you have done the development and deployment setup in such a way that when the time comes, new engineers can be onboarded seamlessly.

* You don't do agile, you are agile.
* You understand basic concepts of lean product development.
* You're a champion in integrations (API, XML, CSV, JSON, EDI, SDK, XLS).
* You believe that building products with customers is the only way to succeed.
* You believe in simplicity being a competitive advantage.
* You understand the meaning of being product-led.
* You've worked in a small teams.

**The roadmap**
We’ve got capital injection lined up for product growth once we deliver
version 1.0 of the product. The first version of the product is to be launched
in the US and that will be the primary market for this product, although it
easily be scaled to a new economy there after. We do have plans to test the
concept to some customers in APAC as we build it.

**How will be make money?**
We will make money via subscriptions, transactions on the platforms or via
APIs.

**Who all are in the founding team?**
At the moment, we are 2 co-founders each having decades of experience in
international expansion, commercialisation, management consulting, product
management, SaaS, robotics, operations, warehousing, logistics and automation
globally. We both have had our fair share of great, good and not so good exits
from startups/scale-ups in the past.

**Salary & Benefits**
The role is sweat equity based till we deliver version 1.0 and then onwards we
can prioritise engineering salaries from the capital raise because our growth
is product-led and building the product further is the growth investment.

onwards, full-time.
