Infrastructure engineer working on our vehicle infrastructure. This is a
generalist role covering DevOps is defined as a set of practices that combines
software development enablement (tools/artifacts) and Information Technology
operations, Networking and wireless communication management, and Test
Engineering support. This position works closely with multi-functional
engineering teams who are responsible for Saildroneβs vehicle and
communication systems. This position is responsible for building, maintaining
and improving several systems and workflows:
* Systems required to develop, manage and test the vehicle operating systems and camera driven ML systems
* Workflows for the vehicle communications systems infrastructure
* Design and support appliance based onboard compute and storage system
This position includes common DevOps tasks such as improving workflows through
automation, optimizing systems or tooling and developing CI/CD processes to
improve business function.
##### **Required skills and experience:**
* 4 + years of experience
* Linux Skills, preferably on arm32 or 64, or Nvidia
* Python, Bash or similar scripting language for automating tasks
* Knowledge of systemd services and debugging
* Debugging of network issues, Able to jump into problem solving, up to and including mesh
* Supported testing, assisting with our hardware in the loop testing will be key to success
* Willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly
* BS/BA in Computer Science, Astrophysics, EE, music, art or something otherwise applicable or equivalent experience
##### **Desired skills and experience:**
* Management/support of Nvidia jetpack or equivalent embedded computers
* Experience with data from scientific sensors or other bespoke apparatus
* Familiarity with RF or antennas, and their weaknesses
