**ABOUT THE JOB**
The Chief Operations Officer is a mix of strategic and hands-on problem
solving across Finance, IT, HR, Marketing, Sales, Strategy, and Business
Operations. This roll-up-your-sleeves leader is comfortable working in a small
business environment as the trusted partner to a husband-wife leadership team.
They will be the right-hand to the CEO and take the reins to run the business.
The goals of this position are to 1) run the business 2) execute the CEO’s
vision for the company and 3) scale up the organization through the direction
of client growth-focused teammates.
This individual has experience working with small businesses, overcoming
common challenges, and scaling within a primarily government / NGO client
base.
**Some Key Responsibilities include:**
Execute the Company’s vision and strategy through the management of day-to-day
operations
Work collaboratively with the CEO and department managers to ensure that the
organizational culture remains driven by the CEO’s vision and innovation in
the field while remaining flexible and responsive to the needs of clients and
the field
Increase the organization’s capacity for data-driven decisionmaking
Analyze and manage current operations
Evaluate current sales processes, analyze opportunities and needs, produce
recommendations for the sales team and processes, and oversee the
implementation of those recommendations once approved by the CEO
Analyze how current and new technology can be used to improve operations,
sales, and the customer experience and make recommendations to the CEO for
approval
Strengthen financial procedures including reporting and cost-cutting
Align financial wellness with social impact by creating measurement processes
and strategies to integrate social impact into all products and services
**ABOUT YOU**
You’re a strategic operations leader with hands-on experience in small
businesses who also has sales and technology expertise to scale the business.
We know people are more than their resume, but to make sure someone is set up
for success in this role, we’re looking for
Master’s degree in business management or related field
Experience with and understanding of contracting with government
Managing government project contracts
Managing business to government components
At least 5 years of experience in an operations leadership role in an
environment with complex people, people, and client systems
Experience with change management
Multi-country experience a plus
Track record of adaptability and pivoting within a leadership role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
Experience with regional/central office dynamics
Demonstrated high-level decision-making experience
Experiencing scaling small business operations into larger companies
Experience in social entrepreneurship
Experience with learning and educational software
High proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office Suite
Some familiarity or willingness to learn CRM platforms
This person must have strong analytical and organizational skills combined
with high levels of emotional intelligence and the ability to coach and
support the development of culturally diverse team members
SALARY INFORMATION $125,000- $150,000
