**_Pyxai Introduction_**
Pyxai is a Culture-Centric Video Interviewing Platform. We help companies
identify top talent and reduce turnover with our socially conscious video
interviewing technology. Our video interviewing platform is infused with a
soft skills and culture values assessment to supercharge the hiring process.
Better hires mean companies can increase team efficiency and productivity
which leads to faster growth. At Pyxai (YC W19), we’re building the leading
B2B full-stack software platform for the $4bn+ online assessment and video
interviewing market. An increasing number of accelerated learning programs
(Bootcamps, etc) that teach beginners different types of skills coupled with
the rising population of a young labor force, is expected to stimulate market
demand in the coming years. We already work with some small and medium
enterprise companies and we are poised for explosive growth. Our team is a
unique mix of technologists, data analysts, and marketing/sales professionals
who are amazing people to work with. We are currently based remotely and
operating mostly out of the East Coast. Our investors include YCombinator and
Angel investors.
** _What We're Looking For_**
We are a fast growing, dynamic company with technology using but not limited
to JASON, JavaScript, Python, and AWS, and we are looking for a software
engineer/developer to join our cutting-edge development team as it grows. We
seek motivated designers and engineers with a deep understanding of front end
development.
** _We Are Looking For The Following_**
* Experience in setting up and maintaining infrastructure and application monitoring.
* Strong experience with setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting deployments.
* Understanding of Javascript & Node.
* Strong ability to troubleshoot applications.
* A quick, adaptable, collaborative problem solver.
We want someone who is comfortable asking “why?” The ideal candidate is a
divergent thinker who understands industry best practices and has experience
with multiple coding languages.
You must be a team player possessing strong analytical as well as technical
skills, and are able to communicate the logic behind technical decisions to
non-tech stakeholders. You must be comfortable working in an agile environment
and have the ability to “take the wheel” when necessary.
** _Responsibilities_**
* Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
* Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions
* Write well-designed, testable code
* Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
* Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
* Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
* Document and maintain software functionality
* Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
* Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
* Comply with project plans and industry standards
* Ensure software is updated with latest features
** _Requirements_**
* Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer ( Must have)
* Experience designing interactive applications ( Must have)
* Ability to develop software in Python, JavaScript, JASON or other programming languages ( Must have)
* Excellent knowledge of relational databases, mySQL ( Must have)
* Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework ( Must have)
* Experience with test-driven development ( Must have)
* Ability to document requirements and specifications ( Must have)
* Team player with the ability to contribute to brainstorming sessions ( Must have)
* Motivated and focus on delivering quality output ( Must have)
* Quick, adaptable, and creative problem solver ( Must have)
* A good communicator who is comfortable asking questions and is an active listener ( Must have)
