We are a social purpose coorporation working on something revolutionary and
preparing to launch. We are building our team. Our MVP is ready to pilot. We
are seeking a savvy marketing leader to build out and drive our go to market
plan. It doesn't get much more "ground floor" and potentially massively
impactful than this.
**PINION - Civic Engagement Re-Imagined**
The Problem: Civic engagement is way too hard, doesn't empower citizens, and
everyone knows it! We have a big idea to fix that and transform the political-
media landscape in the process.
**The Mission: Transform civic engagement.** Strengthen democracy, empower
voters and improve customer satisfaction of residents with their government
and governance. Create a platform where everyone can easily find, vote, track
progress and share their "Pinions" for pending legislation at the local,
state, national, and global legislative levels.
**The Big Idea - "Tinder for politics meets Wikipedia for public opinion".**
Establish THE global democracy platfrom where people easily find and vote on
legislation they care about. Allow them to share their vote to social media if
they like (or remain completely private) - so they feel their voice is heard
and their vote counts. Enable everyone to see living results including how
their friends, community, and of course their elected representatives are
voting - PLUS the candidates running to replace them at the next election.
Imagine voting knowing who has voted with you, or not, on the topics you care
about most, and based on actual data, not political spin. Pinion makes
politics easy, kinda fun and usefully engages public opinion to drive public
policy like a healthy democracy should.
The Role: We are seeking a mission and performance driven marketer to build
out our go to market strategy and plan, manage the team, launch and grow our
Pinion communities of both members and customers, and drive communications
through multiple channels. Our goal is to use this election energy to EXPLODE
into the public consciousness and create a movement as well as a product and
brand!
**Role and Responsibilities: Pinion is a big marketing challenge. Beyond
experience, applicants must have energy, bandwidth, and readiness for
leadership.**
* Build out and manage our marketing plan and team. Position Pinion SPC as a leading edge social purpose corporation creating value for voting users, government customers, and multiple community stakeholders.
* PRO-ACTIVELY ENGAGE key players in the government/political/media ecosystem to create connections, publicity, and a foster diverse range of supporters across the political-media complex for our vision and mission.
* Help plan and execute traditional and equity crowd funding campaigns to fund our initial growth.
* Positioning Pinion as "of/by/for the people" social enterprise - not the government or Google -a place of legislative data, policy and records - that moves the needle and has actual impact.
* Establish and manage key metrics such as Pinion user growth, market penetration, traction, pricing and revenue models, customer and stakeholder satisfaction/retention metrics.
* Develop and implement strategies to increase our digital reach through social media channels, influencer and strategic partnerships, and content distribution.
* Create and deliver engaging content across channels including email/newsletters, social media, blogs/vlogs/pods, traditional media, events, etc.
* Create and manage an analytics dashboard to track the above.
**Qualifications:**
* Marketing experience and energy commensurate with the scope of our opportunity - i.e. grass-roots meets global reach, and impactful in a large positive way.
* Mature planning, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. "Working Together" is a core theme for this project. Pinion is a potentially huge challenge and journey. We want to enjoy working with you on that journey!
* Experience building and managing a plan and team. Establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develops and executes strategies, measure and communicate results. Foster and encourage our younger talent.
* Experience managing marketing assets (CRM, website, blog posts, email newsletters, press released, videos, podcasts, etc.)
* Comfort with a start up environment that requires one to multi-task and take on varying roles from big picture strategy to detail tasks.
* Experience with and enthusiasm for our mission, better democracy, and signficantly impacting the political-media complex.
**Our Team:**
The Pinion team is currently sixteen people and growing globally. We are
motivated professionals who believe in the power of public opinion to improve
civic engagement and make our world better. Our tech team is building a new
platform - web and mobile - and we're starting pilot engagements. While our
tech challenge is big, we think our marketing challenge is even bigger! As
such we are open to marketing professionals with a range of experience levels
and talents to join our team.
Our marketing team is currently 6-8, so you'll have room to lead, contribute
and grow.
**A Good Fit:**
We have a diverse team of people on our project that are part time and we
expect to be flexible as we are not paying yet. That said, an ideal candidate
must have the time and bandwidth required - likely fluctuating between 5 to 20
hours per week. We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated,
friendly and professional. Most of all, you must be able to create and manage
a plan, communicate openly, and work together with others. You should be
enthused about our mission, and comfortable with our early stage, “boot
strapping” startup status. It could be bumpy ride, but it should be a fun one!

We are a true early stage start up (pre-funding/pre-revenue) and all working
for future equity only (no salaries yet) using the Slicing Pie methodology
([www.slicingpie.com](http://www.slicingpie.com)) to fairly allocate equity in
the company. This role is intended to grow into a full-time
salary+bonus+equity position in the future as we gain funding and revenues to
become an operating business. Finally - this is a flexible fully remote
position. An ideal candidate should be self-sufficient, with the bandwidth to
reliably contribute, interested in our mission, and comfortable with our early
stage, “boot strapping” startup status.
