This is a unique role at a seed stage, pet tech startup. We're looking for a
sales "trailblazer" – not someone who needs to follow a playbook but someone
who's capable of writing the playbook. You'll be an individual contributor
building out our sales pipeline for the next 12-18 months while working to
define how we bring in new customers today and in the future. There’ll be
opportunity for this role to evolve into more of a managerial role as we grow,
should that be desired.
**Who we’re looking for:**
* You have 4-6 years experience in sales at a SaaS or marketplace start-up, ideally focused on SMBs.
* You’ve been part of an early-stage startup and understand the time commitment required -- this is not a 9-5 job. Brownie points if you've been the first or second sales hire at another startup before.
* You have an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment. You enjoy wearing multiple hats and know how to be scrappy to get things done with limited resources.
* You’re a charismatic storyteller with an “infectious energy” that others want to be around. You’re naturally empathetic and build rapport quickly.
* You’re self-motivated with a results-first, get-stuff-done attitude and exceptional work ethic.
* You’re a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
* You are a superb problem solver with strong critical thinking skills, who loves rolling up your sleeves to build things on your own, but also knows when to ask for help.
* You are highly organized and take pride in your attention to detail.
* You’re passionate about creating memorable, delightful experiences for customers, who come from all walks of life.
* You love animals and are ideally a pet parent.
**What you’ll do day-to-day:**
* Source, cold call, and email targeted pet care businesses to book new demos.
* Lead value-based sales demos that convert to new trials.
* As needed, conduct in-depth virtual onboarding sessions and follow-up training.
* Provide top-notch support to businesses and pet parents using PetPocketbook as part of our support team.
* Rapidly problem-solve objections and unmet needs by creating workarounds using your knowledge of our capabilities.
* Work with our founder to develop a repeatable, scalable, and profitable sales process.
* Listen, interpret, and articulate feedback from prospects and customers to help inform our product roadmap.
* Have the opportunity in the future to build and manage your own sales team as we scale.
* Contribute to the company in a variety of other ways as needed.

online and mobile platform for small pet services businesses to automate and
streamline their operations so that they can focus on what they love -- the
pets they care for. Our end-to-end business management solution is tailored
for pet care and includes CRM, automated schedule optimization, staff
management, seamless billing and payments, marketing tools, integrated
analytics and comprehensive reporting – basically everything a business needs

Our initial focus is on dog walking & pet sitting companies, but we expect to
