Job Description

**Minimum Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in User Experience or Design (e.g., Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 5+ years of experience otr equivalent competency designing solutions for software, web applications or mobile native apps
* 3+ years of experience using industry standard design and prototyping tools to create low- and high-fidelity designs and define the work, such as Figma (mandatory), Sketch or Adobe XD
* Demonstrated experience interpreting brand strategy and product specs (PRDs) into UX and UI principles, influencing, negotiating with and gaining buy-in from stakeholders and integrated cross-functional teams including product, engineering and marketing.
* Demonstrated ability to apply the design decision making process and incorporate data and key findings into designs
* Demonstrated ability to support the iterative design process from end-to-end, including wire-framing, prototyping, user testing and high-fidelity visuals
* Portfolio highlighting design principles, engagement design for web and mobile platforms that have yielded results and driven business metrics.
* Demonstrated ability in best practices, key findings and ability to communicate your ideas both internally and externally and collaborate with diverse team members

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Financial technology experience
* Animation capabilities
* Additional design capabilities (ex: ad units & website design)
* Demonstrated experience defining the success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs) used to measure design effectiveness
* Foundational understanding of common design heuristics and principles
* Knowledge of balancing human behaviors, technology capabilities and business needs to deliver measurable design solutions

* _What You Will Do *_

**Job Summary**
The UX/UI Designer will work closely with Product, Marketing and Engineering
to create user-centered product designs, requirements, workflows and
strategies. These efforts will improve Palm’s core user experience through A/B
testing, surveys, user-centric copy, and design and will focus on
understanding user behavior, needs, and goals, while then visually translating
those insights into appealing and user-friendly interfaces.

**Responsibilities**

* Own the process. Conduct discovery and ask questions. Seek to understand the overall product vision and core objectives.Research the landscape and learn about competitors in the market and what their user experiences and interfaces look/feel like Gather inspiration and create moodboards to get alignment from stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate concepts, ideas, and complex interactions into user flows, mockups, wireframes, interactive prototypes, customer journey maps and visual designs, then effectively communicate and champion these design directions to business and technical team
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define user stories.
* Create process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and user interface specifications
* Create user experiences and interfaces for product prototypes in keeping with industry standards and best practices. Contribute to UI and UX design best practices and templates.
* Conduct user research, including planning, prioritization, feedback collection and action plan creation. Translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences
* Create user journeys, user flows, wire-frames and interactive prototypes across multiple devices and interfaces
* Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design intent
* Recommend metrics to define, manage and measure design success and prioritize enhancements
* Collaborates with product, engineering, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs
* Manages through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definition
* Advocates for the customer through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, and user testing
* Deliver design assets for acceptance, development, and delivery to market in partnership with engineering
* Work closely with engineering throughout the implementation stage to ensure a high level of quality
* Work with marketing to expand UI designs to ad units and website properties as needed.
