**Hybrid Cloud Engineer**
**Position Summary:**
New American Funding is well along the way with its journey to the cloud. This
role will continue to support what remains in on-premises data centers but
also the transition to full cloud. The Hybrid Cloud Engineer position within
the Technology Services team is a key role supporting Hybrid Cloud
Infrastructure, data protection and reliability engineering monitoring to
ensure optimized uptime of applications. This is a hands-on position with
combination of daily system administration, support tasks and project-related
tasks. This position will work closely with various technical teams, business
stakeholders and vendors to analyze business and technical requirements to
identity options, propose recommendations, and associated value propositions,
while providing engineering design for implementations.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter and a change
agent with experience and desire to drive the organization to modern
technologies. Must be familiar with both on-premises infrastructure and cloud
infrastructure as well as vendors spanning the hyper converged architecture,
virtual desktops, backup and recovery, IaaS, SaaS, PaaS markets. Must have
strong communication and teamwork skills. Lastly will perform duties as
assigned in a RACI model(s), be comfortable working independently but also as
part of a team.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
**Hyper-Converged / VMware Infrastructure**
· Experience in designing, implementations, troubleshooting, managing, and
monitoring Nutanix hyper converged solutions.
· Nutanix or VMware certification (Preferred).
· 3+ years of experience with Nutanix and/or VMware technologies.
· Provide technical support, perform scripting or programming.
· Provide subject matter expert for Nutanix installations, upgrades, patching
and operations.
· Manage and monitor deployment using AOS, AHV. AHV experience is a plus.
· Manage, install, and configure Nutanix nodes.
· Responsible for upgrade and patching.
· Knowledge of networking principles and applications/technologies like TCP /
UDP protocols, iSCSI, DNS, DHCP, GPO services
**Active Directory / M365**
· Knowledge Microsoft Office platforms (SharePoint and Teams), Active
Directory, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Exchange
· 5+ years of experience administering Active Directory, maintaining GPOs,
security groups, domain forests.
· Experienced integrating with Identity management platforms.
Data Center
· Utilize scripting languages (PowerShell, Ansible, etc.) to automate
repetitive work.
· Experience to manage and configure Dynatrace as an IT Operations Monitoring
platform
· Experience with configuration and administration of Load Balancer solutions
Citrix ADC preferred
· Experience with administration of Citrix VDI
· Knowledge of SAN principles, experience deploying and maintaining various
enterprise level storage solutions.
· Manage backups across Windows and Linux environments on-premises and in
cloud, develop cadence for recovery testing.
· Experience with assisting in the design, development, and implementation of
a BCP/DR plan
**Cloud Infrastructure (Azure/AWS)**
· Stay current with a strong connection to community experts and other online
resources.
· Develop strategies to keep Azure and AWS environments up to best practices.
· Participate in the design, migration roadmap and support of applications in
cloud environments.
· Review on a regular basis - Azure monitoring, alerting, and provide
remediation steps.
· Managing Azure roles using PIM. Setup privileged access reviews regularly.
· Collaborate on a wide variety of Azure projects interacting with multiple
teams as a subject matter expert.
· Providing technical guidance around configurations & other security
recommendations.
· Ability to debug and resolve complex issues in cloud environments for
business-critical applications.
**Pluses**
· Proficient in coding using Python.
· Proficient in cloud and container technology (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Experience with Infrastructure as Code
· Experience adhering to strict compliance environment such as SOX, PCI, SOC2
**Desired Competencies:**
● 3+ years of experience managing and supporting VMware
● 2+ years of experience administering Nutanix (Prism, AHV, AOS)
● 2+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)
● 5+ years’ experience administering Active Directory (On-Premises, Azure AD,
Office 365) Group Policy, Exchange, DHCP, DNS.
● 1+ years’ Experience working with ITOM / AIOps solution (SCCM or other
solutions)
● 1+ years administrating Okta including configuration and troubleshooting
integrations
● Experience following ITIL guidelines, including change management, incident
and problem management.
● Experience with multiple operating systems, including LINUX and Windows
● Configure Server OS, Vendor appliances, and other custom applications.
● Strong experience managing and implementing storage and backup
infrastructure
● Experience tracking and resolving tickets with enterprise ticketing systems
● Scripting and debugging experience (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
● Experience with developing, testing, executing DR/BCP plans
● Prior Experience working in a Network Operations Center role is a plus
● Experience with automation platforms such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
**Desired Education/Experience:**
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration or equivalent experience
* 7+ years of professional experience as part of an Infrastructure services team
3\. Advanced industry certifications a plus, e.g., MCP, VCP, ITIL, Security+
