Job Description

About Marble

One in two kids has a treatable mental health condition, and yet most kids
never get care. There are few places to turn for early, preventative, help.
The result is a worsening epidemic in teen mental health that affects
virtually every family. In just the last year, 85% of parents worried about
anxiety or depression negatively impacting the lives of their teen; 42% of
teens reported feeling sad or hopeless, and 10% of teens attempted suicide.

Our mission at Marble is to create a new teen mental health care system,
purpose built for access. We are creating a new system of care that offers
help to teens and families early in their mental health journey, at the moment
they first need it and before issues escalate.

Marble distributes care in partnership with school counselors – who see the
mental health crisis everyday in their offices – helping kids who need more
help than they can get at school. And Marble makes care affordable for
families by accepting all major insurances including commercial and Medicaid
plans.

We are founded by the cofounders of Headway, the leading company creating
access to therapy for adults, and backed by great partners from the world of
both health care and technology, including Khosla Ventures and Town Hall
Ventures.

About the role

Marble is looking for its second engineer. As a founding engineer, you’ll be
responsible for partnering with our CEO and Head of Eng to build our initial
products as we rapidly iterate towards finding product market fit. Once we do,
you’ll be responsible for scaling the function to help us scale efficiently.
As our founding engineer, your job will not fit tightly in a JD. But some
early responsibilities will include:

* Build our initial referral product for counselors. When a family turns to a school counselor for help, they often get a physical PDF of clinics with stale information and monthslong waitlists. You’ll figure out the right product to build to replace that broken process and make referring to Marble feel like magic for school counselors and families.

* Build our initial group therapy product that teens will interact with, answering key questions like how should we manage scheduling and how can we make the experience engaging for teen users?

* Build our initial parent-facing product. We don’t yet know what we need to build to help parents feel confident in Marble. You’ll help us figure that out and then build it.

* Build our V1 clinical operations layer. To operate efficiently, we need to solve problems with technology that most healthcare companies solve with humans. Build the tech that verifies benefits instantaneously, that creates price transparency for parents and students, that allows therapists to seamlessly take notes.
