##### Job Description :
Your core responsibility will be to build scalable, robust API’s supporting
the UI, Data Engineering and Operations teams – from receiving the data to
transforming it, storing it efficiently and building intuitive interfaces for
others to use. There are new and interesting challenges every day: you’ll get
data from various sources, need to create data structures that the UI team can
bind against and build out an event-based processing pipeline.
A good fit for our team is someone who can adapt and contribute to different
areas of the system depending on the need. Getting your hands dirty and being
willing to dig into a new problem is both critical to do the job well and what
keeps it interesting. Lightkeeper is developed using both static and dynamic
languages, combining the best of the open source world with custom developed
solutions for domain specific problems. This opportunity is in Boston and
requires being in the office at least 3 days a week.
##### **Responsibilities:**
* Interface with the UI, Data Engineering and Operations team to understand their needs
* Design, build, test and document scalable, robust API’s to support business functions
* Support and extend existing API’s that are currently in use
* When faced with a problem, find and address the root cause
* Validate and apply consistency to a fragmented data processing pipeline
* Provide transparency on the state of the batch processing workflow
* Deliver centralized data to a network of different servers
* Build tools to automate tracking down differences between data sets that should tie out
##### **Qualifications:**
* BA/BS degree
* 4 to 7 years of experience
* Self-motivated, strong work ethic and interest in working in a small business environment
* Expertise in python, with experience in pandas
* Knowledge of financial data, financial terms and the hedge funds
* Strong desire to automate, and dislike of doing things manually
* Positive attitude
* Strong communication skills necessary to interact both internally and externally with clients
* Bonus points: experience in C# or javascript.
