**L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Junior
Software Engineer to join our team. **This position will be based at our
Rochester, NY facility and offers a 9/80 and Hybrid work schedule.
##### **Job Description:**
* Design, implement, and maintain software and firmware for portable SATCOM terminals that provide network connectivity from remote locations.
* Develop in C++ for multi-threaded, 32-bit (Linux) embedded systems.
* Develop in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for web application interfaces.
* Develop in C for multi-threaded, 8-bit (FreeRTOS) embedded systems.
* Develop in Python for hardware simulators.
* Participate in product testing to verify firmware functionality.
* Perform unit-level and system-level testing to validate design.
* Support other engineering teams and manufacturing with design and production.
* Support customers with fielded equipment.
##### **Required Experience:**
* Bachelor’s Degree (BSEE, BSCE, BSCS) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience or Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
* Proficient in object-oriented languages and design.
* Familiar with software configuration management.
* Able to learn quickly and apply new concepts to development tasks.
* Able to work closely with other software engineers in a small team.
* Familiar with networking fundamentals and equipment.
* Familiar with RF principles and equipment.
* Able to operate multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
* Able to read electrical schematics.
