Kalogon, an early stage startup based in Melbourne, seeks a motivated
Engineering Lead for our Medical product lines to help us as we expand our
offerings, as well grow our existing award-winning products, Orbiter, Booster
and Orbiter Med. This newly created role would work closely with the early-
stage development teams and cross-functionally with production, product, and
other internal stakeholders to ensure our product visions are brought to life
through solid design for manufacture and process development.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage engineering team of 6 - 10 to work through designs, challenges, and in collaboration with key internal partners
* Transition prototypes to final producible designs for customers, with buy-in from all key stakeholders
* Solve technical and emergent issues in the manufacturing environment
* Oversee design production tooling and create processes for successful bring-up of new production capabilities.
* Manage supply chain of internal components on new and existing products
* Develop work instructions for assembly of new products
* Create new processes for evaluating product quality at scale
* Evaluate existing manufacturing processes to identify and correct production inefficiencies
* Bring up of new manufacturing processes and methods
* Determine requirements for quality inspections and control processes, as well as methods for containing non-conforming hardware
* Responsible for designing enclosures for new products
* Use design for manufacturing best practices for injection molding to develop producible enclosures for mass production
* Responsible for creating work instructions for assembling new and existing products
* Serve as a part of the leadership team within the organization
**Qualifications**
* B.S. or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering or similar
* At least 6 years of experience and able to excel in this role
* Managerial experience with happy, productive teams
* Previous experience in product development for medical devices. aerospace, or automotive industry highly desired
* Proficient in CAD software such as Solidworks, OnShape, Siemens NX, PTC Creo
* Previous experience converting a finalized design to injection moldable products

for E2609. The US Air Force is piloting our seating in various airframes to
improve crew performance. We work with multiple medical, aviation, and
automotive clients to adjust our technology for use, improving comfort,
maintaining performance, and promoting healthy tissue.
