**About the role**
We're looking for a Senior/Staff Back-End Engineer to assume a pivotal role in
our engineering team. you won't just be an engineer; you'll be a technical
lead shaping the technology, product, and culture of our company.
As a Staff Back-End Engineer at Trace, you will:
* Craft key artifacts that underpin our powerful metric tree application
* Set a high bar for latency, reliability, stability, and security
* Collaborate with the front-end engineering team, ensuring a delightful user experience
**About you**
To excel in this role, you bring:
* A passion for building highly performant back-end services that are the foundation for delightful user experiences
* Hands-on expertise in coding data transformations and pipelines
* A robust grasp of data modeling principles and business metrics
* Preferably, a track record as a senior data platform engineer at a startup or fast-paced enterprise
* A pulse on industry advancements such as Apache Iceberg, DBT metrics, or database technologies like duckDB, with a knack for integrating them effectively
* High proficiency and enthusiasm to code in Python, Rust, or Typescript
* Endless curiosity and a keen interest in understanding the complete product end to end
