Job Description

**⛹️ About the role**

* We're looking for a talented engineer to join Hardfin and help expand our platform. Our vision includes many technically challenging systems and data problems, some of which are features that are already spec'd and some that are yet to be developed.
* You'll partner with the co-founders (CEO and CTO) and early team to execute a plan that will get us there. We're fast and scrappy, so not opposed to shortcuts that help us launch and iterate quality products quickly. You will be involved in shaping our technical direction from the start. This includes the difficult tradeoffs of what has to be built "right" today, what could be rebuilt next year, and what needs to wait entirely. You'll set the tone for all of Hardfin's future technical talent.

_Currently seeking candidates based anywhere in the United States, with
preference for tech hub cities—San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago,
NYC, Boston (in no particular order). We are building a distributed team,
meaning a mostly-remote culture with offices distributed in certain key
cities._

**🏢 About the company**

**Hardfin is a B2B software platform** for equipment manufacturers (e.g.,
agriculture, construction, robotics, 3D printing) that enables them to offer
ongoing subscriptions for their hardware. Our **HaaS operations platform**
allows equipment manufacturers to offer hardware-as-a-service (HaaS)
subscriptions—track assets, upsell services, manage recurring billing,
automate lease accounting, integrate customer data for usage-based models, and
fund COGS with bank partners.

The hardware industry is massive and behind the software curve on
subscriptions (i.e., HaaS) because it's harder to implement for hardware than
pure software. There are many factors to consider (systems, data, sales,
finance) for businesses that are focused on building great hardware.
Longstanding companies have captive financing subsidiaries to manage leasing
(e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere), and a few younger companies have hacked
together in-house subscription solutions with enterprise software—but no one
has cracked the code to make it seamless.

Hardfin cracks the code. We solve the complex system and data problems for our
customers and enable smooth subscriptions for all teams (sales, operations,
engineering, finance). Our platform unlocks new capabilities for the equipment
industry to transition to modern business models.

**💪 What you bring to the table**

_From your professional career, you have:_

* **Product vision and intuition** (ability to connect the dots on how customer needs tie to product and technical solutions)

_In a perfect world, you have experience:_

* **Building fintech products** (integrating payments platforms such as Stripe)
* **Integrating CRMs** (connecting to platforms such as Salesforce)
* **Integrating ERPs** (connecting to platforms such as NetSuite)
