Job Description

TL;DR- Technical co-founder wanted for hazardous journey. Small (initial)
wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe
return unknown. Honor, recognition, and enormous riches in case of success.

**About the Role**

We’re building TurboTax for responding to government RFPs – making it 10x
easier for small and medium businesses (SMBs) to source, screen and win
government contracts. Our AI-powered solution enables our customers to focus
their efforts on winning high-quality government business, while eliminating
the heavy administrative burden that typically accompanies winning such
business.

We are actively searching for a hungry, talented engineer to partner with us
as our technical cofounder and third owner of the business.

We have pilot customers excited about what we’re building. We have ‘funding
secured’ - with capital from our founding team giving us runway for the next
two years and plans to raise a meaningful round of outside capital from our
affluent networks in the near-term. What we need is you: a beast of a
technical wizard that loves to build, and wants to partner with savvy business
operators that know how to sell.

Our ideal partner is a full-stack engineer that is comfortable wearing
multiple hats, is passionate about the prospect of working closely with LLMs
to build out a modern software tool from “a clean sheet of paper”, and loves
the challenge of zero-to-one work. Moreover, you’re not only passionate about
building an amazing product, but are equally energized about the prospect of
building a company with a mission that matters.

**About GovGuide**

The federal government awarded $149 billion to nearly 60,000 small businesses
in 2022. State and local governments spent nearly triple that. While the pie
is enormous, accessing those opportunities is often painful, expensive, and
anxiety-inducing – requiring days or weeks of soul-crushing paperwork.

We’re building a company to solve that problem. Our goal is to build a
wonderful company and to make a positive impact on our country. By making the
government procurement market more efficient, we will enable more SMBs to win
government business, allowing government contracts to be doled out by merit,
not by proficiency in filling out paperwork. In the process, we will empower
the hardest-working SMBs to win the business they deserve, improve the quality
of services provided to the government, and save money for taxpayers.

**Your Role / Responsibilities**

As our technical co-founder, you will help us transform GovGuide’s product
vision into a reality. You will work closely with the other co-founders to
build a software architecture that marries the latest developments in
Artificial Intelligence with an intuitive UX for our end customers, creating a
tight feedback loop between product development and customer value.

As the founding technical member of GovGuide, you must be excited about the
prospect of designing and owning the entire technical stack for the company in
its early days. You must thrive in working in fast-moving environments with
loosely-defined directions to translate strategy into product.

As our organization grows, your role will likely transition to include more
managerial and product strategy work.

**Requirements**

While we are open minded about the background of our third co-founder, we
envision the ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record
along many of the following dimensions:

* Translating product ideas from 0 to 1, with measurable commercial outcomes as a result
* Ability to break down product vision into a prioritized list of discrete, achievable engineering milestones.
* Working across both the front-end and back-end of applications
* A strong design aesthetic and intuition of what makes a great UX
* Building and leading high-performing engineering teams

Additionally, all candidates must have:

* Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical team members
* Passion for working with Large Language Models (as a side project is totally fine, if not preferred)
* Ability to think critically and to formulate solutions to problems in a clear and concise way
* A fire in their belly (chip on shoulder also acceptable)
* A sense of humor

If you’re interested in learning more about this role, apply and we’re happy
to tell you more about what we’re building!
