**Job Description – Senior Accountant**
We are seeking a talented Senior Accountant with 3-5+ years of experience to
join our accounting team. You will be responsible for all day-to-day
accounting operations, assistance with various ongoing and ad-hoc finance
projects, and other financial activities within the department. While the core
of this role is accounting, your responsibilities may include broader
financial support functions as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a
strong background in accounting, an acute attention to detail, and an
organized and consistent approach to shifting priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
This is a new position created out of growth, which will report directly to
the Controller. This position is fully remote.
**Primary Responsibilities**
* Manage all day-to day accounting operations, including accounts payable, inventory management, and expense processing
* Assist with all elements of the financial close process to ensure a timely close including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, etc.
* Preparation of management financial reporting packages
* Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Provide accounting support for annual corporate federal and state tax filings
* Manage issuance of 1099s to vendors and contractors at the end of year
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
* Maintain and improve accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
* Drive automation of accounting and finance processes, where possible
* Assist with outside auditors and provide information to support their audit procedures
* Other responsibilities as may be necessary
**Requirements**
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
* 3-5+ years of progressive private and/or public accounting experience
* Thorough understanding of basic accounting standards (GAAP)
* Experience with general ledger functions and monthly / annual close processes
* Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, Netsuite) and Microsoft Excel
* Self-starter capable of independently driving projects forward
* Excellent organization skills, time management and attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Start-up experience a plus
* FinTech experience a plus
* Basic knowledge of Bitcoin a plus
