**About us**
FleetWorks automates the 2B phone calls and emails that the freight industry
makes every year. We use voice synthesis, generative AI, and integrations with
logistics systems to solve the largest cost in this industry - people. We are
a fast-growing startup in the logistics space led by a founding team from
companies like Airbnb and Uber Freight. We value innovation, drive, and a
constant hunger for learning. We're in search of a Founding Software Engineer
to join our remote team and contribute to the foundation of our tech culture.
**About you**
The ideal candidate is a driven generalist who can take on any challenge and
is always thinking of new ways to innovate. This role is a good fit if you are
passionate about owning product development, leading with the right design and
development principles.
As part of our founding team, you will have a high agency role in bringing AI
to the transportation industry: shipping new features, talking to users and
shaping company culture for other team members to come.
You will work closely with the CTO and other engineers to build and improve
experiences in our pilot SaaS product.
**Must haves:**
* In SF, or willing to relocate
* At least 3 years of relevant development experience
* Excellence in NodeJS, Typescript
* Demonstration of autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit
**Good to haves:**
* Proficiency in GCP, cloud deployment, CI/CD
* Experience with LLMs (OpenAI API, Langchain, HuggingFace, etc.)
* Previous startup experience
**About the interview**
At FleetWorks, we seek engineers who excel in customer interaction, rapid
iteration, and product ownership. Our engineers drive their roadmap and MVP
development, emphasizing full-stack work, analysis, and customer interaction.
Our interview process is tailored to identify such engineers, with a focus on
product-oriented questions relevant to our work.
Interview Process Overview:
1. Phone Screen: An informal call to assess your fit for the role and FleetWorks' startup environment. We look for a strong startup interest, demonstrated by past experience.
2. Technical Screens: Two remote sessions to evaluate programming skills and UI experience.
3. Interview Process: A deep dive into technical abilities, product thinking, and fit. 1\. Debugging: Fixing code and communicating the process. 2\. Whiteboard: Solving coding questions and discussing solutions. 3\. Database/Schema Design: Designing database schemas with a focus on Postgres. 4\. Product Thinking: Discussion on feature building and decision making.
4. Final Interviews: In-person interviews in SF, covering compensation, benefits, and general matters. Lunch is provided to meet the team.
Timing: The process typically takes a month, but we can expedite for
candidates with competing offers or time constraints.
