### About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, growth-driven Director of Engineering with deep
expertise in scaling platforms to enterprise levels. In this role, you will
lead and grow our engineering team, primarily based in Eastern Europe or
establishing partnerships, and play a key role in transforming our
architecture, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation in a remote-
first environment.
As a senior leader, you will scale our platform and team while embedding best-
in-class engineering practices. Initially acting as a player-coach, you will
be directly involved in key technical decisions before transitioning into a
fully managerial role as the team expands. You will report directly to the
Founder and CEO and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align
technology with product and business strategy.
This role is critical in elevating the engineering team’s leadership and
maturity, ensuring a structured yet agile approach to development, execution,
and collaboration. Given Entromy’s strong customer-facing teams and market
reputation, the Director of Engineering will bridge the gap between technology
and customer needs, fostering tight collaboration between engineering,
product, and business functions.
Additionally, you will be responsible for establishing engineering excellence
and best practices, ensuring high-quality software development, security
compliance, and process automation. You will also act as a public-facing
advocate for Entromy’s engineering culture, strengthening external visibility
and attracting top-tier talent.
### What You Will Do
* Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture and enhancing leadership within the team.
* Attract and retain top-tier engineering talent while creating a structured career growth framework for engineers.
* Drive technical strategy and oversee platform architecture for scalability, performance, and reliability.
* Establish and refine development processes, DevOps best practices, and security protocols, ensuring compliance with established ISO 27001 practices while balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and business continuity.
* Align technical initiatives with broader business goals and company growth, ensuring engineering is directly supporting customer-driven development.
* Optimize engineering processes, sprint rhythms, retros, improving efficiency, code quality, documentation, and team productivity.
* Achieve strong understanding of the product, documentation and elevant culture curiousity and rapid iteration.
* Balance technical debt and platform scalability while making critical architectural decisions.
* Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
* Support engineering thought leadership by fostering best practices within the team and selectively engaging in external discussions to strengthen Entromy’s reputation as a top technology employer.
* Collaborate closely with the product team to align technical execution with customer needs and strategic priorities.
* Build strong partnerships across Product, QA, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless execution.
* Champion a culture of transparency, innovation, and excellence while maintaining Entromy’s fast-paced, high-impact culture.
### What You Will Need
* 7+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced SaaS or tech environment.
* Proven experience scaling engineering teams and enterprise-level architectures.
* Strong technical background in system architecture, software development, and platform scalability.
* Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing geographically distributed teams and elevating engineering leadership maturity.
* Demonstrated ability to implement security best practices, DevOps automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
* Well-networked within the tech community with an understanding of best practices and emerging trends (including AI).
* Experience working with remote teams, particularly in Eastern Europe.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and customer-facing teams.
* Ability to balance technical debt with scalability and enterprise needs while leading in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
* A strong track record of delivering innovative solutions and fostering customer-driven development.
* High integrity and a long-term mindset for building leading technology infrastructure.
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
### Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in both startup and enterprise environments with rapid scaling expertise.
* Knowledge of HR tech or organizational health platforms (highly desirable).
* Experience working in remote-first environments and using engineering collaboration tools.
