Job Description

**About EnergyTag**

EnergyTag is a mission-driven non-profit founded in 2020 that works with the
world’s leading organizations to build the next generation of clean energy
markets and corporate carbon accounting. To do this, we work with hundreds of
stakeholders to develop technical standards for more transparent energy
tracking using granular energy certificates which ensure demand is met with
clean energy supply every hour. A vast improvement on the current system.

We also work to advise governments around the world on various policy topics,
for example, ensuring clean hydrogen standards incorporate cutting edge
technologies and methods to ensure environmental integrity. The enhancement of
clean energy markets and carbon accounting spearheaded by EnergyTag is
strongly supported by large consumers (e.g Google, Microsoft), governments
(e.g EU, US) and the benefits are demonstrated by robust empirical evidence
(IEA, Princeton, MIT). It’s an exciting time to join this movement.

We are looking for a highly mission-driven candidate with deep knowledge of US
energy markets to lead our work in the US and eventually across the Americas.

**Your Mission**

* Lead EnergyTag’s Americas efforts to transform clean electricity attribute markets.
* Develop and execute a strategy to enable the rollout of GCs by registries.
* Raise awareness of EnergyTag’s mission and educate regulators and state PUCs on the role and benefits of granular certification.
* Coordinate the interests of key EnergyTag stakeholders, from utilities to large buyers.
* Help lead efforts to promote granular accounting in GHG Protocol scope 2 update.
* Represent EnergyTag at key US stakeholder events and conferences.
* Identify regulatory intervention opportunities to implement hourly matching
* Support EnergyTag’s efforts to raise grant funding to expand reach in the Americas.
* Support coordination and communications around the EnergyTag standards audit process with EnergyTag’s audit team.

**Your Skills**

* Minimum five years experience in the US energy sector.
* Deep knowledge of clean energy procurement and Scope 2 carbon accounting
* Experience working with Energy Attribute Certificates.
* Good working knowledge of the energy (power in particular) markets in the US.
* Established network of contacts in government, academia, and the energy sector.
* Mission driven and highly autonomous within a global framework.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
* Team player, and natural leader.
* At ease working with large stakeholder groups to find common-ground.
