every continent and have made ~$2M in sales with millennial buyers in our
first 2 years – all through word of mouth – and are gearing up to launch our
full product next spring.

**For Artists:** 84% of artists today don't have gallery representation, and
galleries take 50-70% of artists’ sales. Cohart is the first and only hub to
independently sell art without insane commission fees and access essential
tools and infrastructure needed to grow art businesses and communities online.
**For Buyers:** buying art today is impersonal, cold, and noisy. On Cohart,
art collecting is easy, social, and personalized for you. As a buyer, you can
interact with artists through chats and livestreams, discover art with tech-
enabled curation, purchase directly with trust and confidence, and re-sell &
manage collections.
**For Taste-makers:** opinions about what makes art great shouldn’t be limited
to elite art gatekeepers. On Cohart, iconic taste-makers from culture, like
Paris Hilton, become art taste-makers. By sharing what art they love and why
they love it, they drive value to pieces or artists they’re passionate about
and democratize the art conversation.
💻 **Role**
Our team is diverse, eclectic, fun, and talented. We’re entirely remote and
located globally, spanning nearly every continent. You will be one of the
authors of the Cohart story. We've been heads down in beta mode, but we're
gearing up for our next chapter. This is where you come in. You will take the
existing product and drive it toward public launch. You will recruit, hire,
and manage growth dedicated engineering, design, and analytics resources to
define and execute the product roadmap.

You have a phenomenal engineering background and can lead a global team. These
are some of your personality traits, interests, or previous work experiences:
* You are comfortable contributing to and managing a remote team working with a diverse team of developers, designers, and marketers around the world with different timezones
* You have experience building products from the ground up and enjoy defining the working environment from a technology standpoint
* You are passionate about finding and optimizing PMF
* You are excited to help us navigate and lead the art world transition into the digital space
**Required:**
* Degree or equivalent (+ 4 additional years of experience)
* 5 years+ writing scalable web applications
* Excellent written and moderate spoken English (non-native speakers)
* Deploying and scaling cloud applications
* Working with AWS ApiGateway, Lambda, S3, and other AWS services (or other cloud equivalents)
* Proficient in one or more JS/TS frameworks
* Python, Go, backends
* Building and publishing mobile applications
* iOS / Android Application build, integration, test & deployment
* Ideally with cross-platform tooks such as React Native, Flutter
* Experience with MongoDB writing performant queries/updates and know techniques for maintaining a consistent database when using NoSQL technologies
* Understand what it means to design Rest APIs and document them clearly using Swagger or similar
* Experiences with automated testing suites and familiarity with unit tests like Jest or Mocha
* Familiarity with Git code versioning tools
* Knowledge of modern functional programming and/or object-oriented programming
* Ability to write well-documented and clean code
* User authentication and authorization in full-stack environments
**Your Passions:**
* Knowledge of DNS and use of many sub-domains
* Working with CDNs (such as AWS Cloudfront)
* Familiarity with headless CMS architecture and open source solutions
* Maximizing performance of web page delivery and express APIs.
* Static site generators such as Gatsby, Next.js, etc.
