Capula have an exciting opportunity to join our New York office as a Full
Stack Developer. This is an exciting role, working directly within one of our
trading pods.
This full stack developer will have extensive experience in Python, SQL and
VBA and the role will be to build and maintain various front office trading
systems. The role will include all aspects of software development including
liaising with the trading team to gather designing and developing features.
**Duties And Responsibilities**
* Write product or system development code
* Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
* Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
* Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
* Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
**Requirements**
Minimum qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
* 3 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python a must)
* 3 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
* 1-3 years of experience with structured database management systems such as SQL or mySQL
Preferred qualifications:
* Front-end experience including JavaScript and/or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent
* Familiarity with fixed income and other financial products
* Working knowledge of Excel VBA / pyxll
* Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
