**Responsibilities** :
* Partner with other scientists and cross-functional colleagues in the company to frame problems mathematically and within business context.
* Perform exploratory data analysis to gain a deeper understanding of problems.
* Develop and fit statistical, machine learning, or optimization models, such as for pricing and LTV.
* Write production model code; collaborate with Software Engineers to implement algorithms in production.
* Design and implement both simulated and live experiments.
* Analyze experimental and observational data; communicate findings; facilitate launch decisions.
* Be a mentor to other team members and a data-driven thought leader to cross functional colleagues.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* PhD in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with a focus on optimization and machine learning.
* 2+ years of professional experience as a data scientist is desirable, but we will consider promising less experienced candidates.
* Strong proficiency in Python for model building and implementation in production, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams to build a great business.
