Who We Need:
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to take on the management of the
continued development of an emerging product. As our Engineering Manager, you
will be a highly visible internal leader working to inspire your team with
clear direction, in alignment with the vision of the company. The right leader
will be committed to performance, results, and operational excellence,
implementing processes into logical units of work across the internal team and
our partners all while acting as an actualizer of Brightwell's vision. The
Engineering Manager should be a leader who helps drive our culture of
empowerment, ownership, and accountability to help develop our team
technically and professionally. We are looking not only for a strategic,
innovative thinker but someone who has proven they can execute, with both
excellent leadership and communication skills.
**This is a REMOTE position, based in the U.S. Some travel will be required.**

What You'll Do:
* Contribute to the architectural vision and roadmap, ensuring quality and stability.
* Bring an entrepreneurial attitude and a "roll up your sleeves" mentality to evaluating competing issues and assessing the product.
* Dive deep into the product with the team to gain a thorough understanding of the product and the underlying technology.
* Identify and successfully implement improvements in our engineering processes, tools, and architecture to enable us to deliver on our key initiatives.
* Be an effective spokesperson and champion for the engineering team.
* Influence continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, coaching, and metrics.
* Implement best practices to ensure an optimized, stable, scalable, software engineering environment.
* Take on other challenges as needed.
As Engineering Manager, you have:
* 5+ years of experience managing distributed software engineering teams.
* 2+ years working with data at scale.
* Built new products and scaled them quickly.
* 2+ years experience working with Microsoft Azure, including proficiency in deploying, managing, and scaling applications and services within an Azure environment.
* A broad skill base covering business, technology, user experience, and leadership. You transition seamlessly between managerial activities and low-level technical details at times dropping into code to help the team meet its objectives while also keeping your skill set sharp.
* Experience with managing mixed with internal and external resources.
* Proven ability to deliver complex projects spanning months of development.
* Established clear growth objectives and lead the creation of stable, scalable products.
* Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, motivating, and retaining talented engineers and working to develop the team's skills, knowledge and capabilities as required.
* Experience coaching and mentoring individuals at various stages of the experience spectrum ranging from leaders to individual contributors.
* Lead the teams to increase productivity and results within each area of service delivery.
