providing transparency and efficiency to the multi-trillion dollar logistics
industry. We help our customers, ranging from the largest brands in the world
to solo truckers, uncover unfair charges and avoid inefficiencies. Our users
have saved hundreds of millions in fees to date, and we’re just getting
started.
We’re a remote-first company with a critical mass of people who often work out
of offices in LA and NYC. Our product engineering team is looking for another
backend engineer to join our ranks, continuing our disruption of a
technologically antiquated industry.
### **About the team**
The Eagle team at BlueCargo is responsible for building out data pipelines and
ensuring the accuracy of our data. We are a small but mighty team, currently
consisting of 3 engineers and 1 data scientist. We collaborate closely to
drive the technology and infrastructure that powers BlueCargo’s product
delivery, always aiming for precision and efficiency in our work.
### **What will you do?**
As the Lead Backend Engineer of the Eagle team, you will be building the
platform technology and infrastructure that drives BlueCargo’s product
delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other software engineers
* Translating product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect, robust code
* Researching new technologies and methodologies to improve our architecture, software components, user experience, and development process
* Leading a team of 3-4 engineers and 1 data scientist, taking complete ownership of the features you work on, and ensuring successful product delivery
* Overseeing the design and implementation of web scraping solutions, as well as the overall system architecture and infrastructure to ensure scalability and robustness

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic senior engineer to join our team

### Requirements:
* 5+ year of Python development experience, ideally with Django. Typescript experience is valued as well.
* Experienced in data sourcing technologies (external APIs, web-scraping, EDI files, etc.) and building data management platforms
* Proven leadership qualities and the ability to take complete ownership of the features you work on
* Proven ability to manage and lead a team, perform and oversee complex tasks, and prioritize multiple tasks based on overall strategic goals
* Strong knowledge of data modeling, building pipelines, and ETL processes
### Nice to have:
* Interest and/or experience in logistics and/or supply chain
* Start-up experience
* Experience working on cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
### **Compensation**
* **Salary** : 170k - 220k (salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location)
