**Your Role and Responsibilities**
* Strategic Visioning: Understand the big picture of our software ecosystem and develop a
* Strategic roadmap for backend improvements.
* Code Base Enhancement: Lead the charge in refactoring, optimizing, and improving our large
* Code bases to boost performance and maintainability.
* Scalability and Reliability: Design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable backend
systems.
* Collaboration: Work closely with our team of software engineers, infrastructure architects, and
other stakeholders to ensure the backend systems integrate seamlessly and
effectively.
* Hands-on Development: While your role is strategic, we value hands-on coding. You’ll be
directly involved in designing, coding, reviewing, testing, debugging, and
optimizing the
backend.
* Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous innovation and development in the
backend domain, ensuring our software stays ahead of industry standards.
* Knowledge Sharing: Clearly communicate your vision, decisions, and rationales to both
technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Mentorship: Help junior team members grow through coaching, code reviews, and knowledge
sharing sessions.
**Our Requirements**
* **10+ years** of professional experience in software development with a focus on backend
development and improving large code bases
* **5+ years** of expertise in Go (Golang) and experience in optimizing large-scale systems
* **3+ years** experience in operations research, e.g., analyzing the performance of an existing
system, identifying bottlenecks, and improving the overall performance
* Previous experience in a high-growth or startup environment
* An entrepreneurial spirit with self-motivation and initiative, capable of independently driving
tasks to completion
* A visionary mindset with the prowess to translate visions into executable plans
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex
technical concepts clearly and concisely
**Even Better If You Also Have**
* Hands-on experience with AWS and its suite of services
* Knowledge or experience in blockchain technology
**Compensation**
The salary range is **$140K to $150K USD** / year and will include a generous
equity vesting allocation for long-term commitment. Full time salary includes
a full benefits package and paid time off.
