### About The Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and technically-skilled Engineering
Manager to join our team. Imagine yourself as a mini-CTO, leading a dedicated
team of iOS, Android, Backend, and QA engineers to deliver on our vision. Your
mission will be to translate business and product strategies into a cohesive
technical roadmap, contributing to our goal of making learning more
accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone. This role is about
leading, mentoring, and influencing not just within your team but across the
organization.

### What You Will Do

* **Planning & Execution**: Devise and implement strategies for project completion within set deadlines. Evaluate the integration of new technologies, aligning with Technical Leads on solutions. Manage OKRs, collaborate with product managers and engineers to prioritize tasks, establish team processes, and set short and long-term goals.
* **Coaching & People Management**: Mentor cross-functional teams, offering continuous feedback and addressing performance. Conduct regular meetings with your team, understanding their objectives and hurdles. Manage performance reviews and promote career growth within the team.
* **Representation & Transparency**: Act as the team's representative in company-wide meetings, fostering transparency within the group. Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to implement the agreed roadmap, identify potential issues, and enhance the team's processes.
* **Hiring** : Partner with our recruitment team to identify and onboard exceptional candidates. Contribute to refining the hiring process, conducting technical interviews, and ensuring the team's staffing needs are met.
* **Strategy & Vision**: Align strategies with product and engineering leadership, implementing the agreed roadmap. Manage risks effectively and ensure alignment of priorities with stakeholders. Champion the improvement of team processes and practices, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and respectful collaboration.
* **Mentorship** : Develop your team through mentoring, building high-performing individuals and groups. Advocate for modern software practices and serve as a subject matter expert in your team's domain. Make critical technical decisions providing proper context, and attracting and retaining the best team members.

### What You Need To Have

* Strong technical background, preferably in backend and/or mobile app development
* Proven experience in leading, hiring, onboarding, staffing and coaching cross-functional engineering teams with a minimum of 3 years managing technical teams
* Deep understanding of agile methodologies and their application in a dynamic environment
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people
* You are product-oriented, combining thoughtfulness with pragmatism and an entrepreneurial mindset with a 'get it done' attitude
* Ability to use data and facts to drive decision-making
* Modern DevOps mindset around automation and CI/CD
* You care about creating a great engineering culture with ownership and growth mindsets and a servant leadership focus
* Experience in mentoring and career development for ICs across different technical domains
* Demonstrated success in fostering a positive and engaging work environment that stimulates creativity and innovation
