FT, standard 40-hour week

Ainstein creates advanced radar sensors that enable intelligent driving,
flying, working, and living. We provide innovative, high-performance, and
autonomous radar sensors in the Aerospace, Specialty Vehicle, and Sports
industries. We help customers adapt and deploy our solutions to achieve their
potential. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, with backing from major investors like
Doosan Bobcat, we’ve learned to leverage our expertise and our global network
of integrators, distributors, investors, and multinational partners, to
overcome traditional radar-industry constraints such as cost, weight, and
performance issues.
As a Technical Lead in radar sensor development, you are responsible for
guiding the engineering team through the design and implementation of
innovative radar systems for vehicle applications. Your role encompasses a
variety of critical functions that will allow you to grow both technically and
in a leadership position.
Job Responsibilities
Technical Engineering Leadership
Provide technical leadership to a cross functional development team of up to
10 engineers working on mmWave radar development and product application
projects
Mentor junior team members in order to further their technical skills and
careers
Participate in the hiring process for new team members
Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends, driving
continuous improvement in product performance and development processes

Engineering Product Design
Drive overall product design in coordination with Product Management,
Hardware, Software, and Mechanical Engineers
Collaborate with Manufacturing to guide development of End-of-Line testing and
resolve production design issues
Lead risk management activities, including Design Failure Mode and Effects
Analysis (DFMEA), to identify and mitigate potential failure modes

Project Delivery
Define the scope of work for new projects and plan tasks accordingly
Provide day-to-day input on ongoing tasks, helping team members prioritize
work and move past blockers
Support resolution of issues with products in production
Report up on progress, issues, and blockers on multiple active projects
Interface with customers as the initial escalation point for product issues
when identified by application engineers
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical) or
Computer Science
Minimum 7 years of industry experience in electronics or embedded software
development
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Understanding of millimeter wave radar systems
Knowledge of vehicle electronics and communication protocols (e.g., CAN,
Ethernet)
Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C, or C++
Competence with standard office software suites

Desired Skills & Experience
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant engineering field
10+ years of industry experience in electronics development
Expertise in functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262)
Familiarity with electronics development quality standards such as ASPICE
Hands-on experience with millimeter wave radar systems
Background in automotive electronics development
