Job Description
Purpose: To develop and maintain the technology backbone for our innovative
products. As one of our pioneer engineers, you'll be working closely with our
cross-functional team to implement robust software modules for our enterprise
customers.
As a fullstack engineer, our ideal candidate will bring a healthy curiosity to
this role, and be comfortable jumping into unfamiliar codebases. You should
have a breadth of knowledge and experience, covering server-side backend
implementations, frontend code generation, and working with product teams. You
should have a good understanding of how to build full-stack applications from
backend to frontend. Interest in Machine Learning is a plus. Above all,
formulating more efficient processes in order to scale to customer needs and
demands should be your foremost interest.
You will be a powerful ally supporting our software engineering efforts,
ensuring robust communication between frontend and backend systems. Our small
yet dynamic team depends on you to build solid foundations that enable smooth
execution of code, pulling and modifying data, as per our requirements.
To excel in this role, you should possess a strong background in backend
engineering and practical experience working with startups. You should be
dynamic, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work
environment.

**This is a full-time remote opportunity open to job seekers in the US and
North American time zones (Greater Los Angeles area a bonus).**
### What You Will Be Doing:
* Developing scalable services and APIs.
* Collaborating with our product-engineering team to maintain current frontend infrastructure and be centrally responsible for scaling our frontend-backend infrastructure.
* Taking ownership of code quality by implementing unit tests and participating in code reviews.
* Working closely with other engineers to improve system consistency, availability and performance.
* Architecting systems that meet current and near-term product goals, with strong attention to scalability and simplicity where possible.
* Defining engineering best practices and workflows along with the rest of the team.
* Keeping on top of the latest backend technologies to ensure we are always using the best techniques and tools.
* Interfacing with Product, Design, and customers to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
* Implementing security measures and data protection settings following best practices.
### What You Must Bring:
* Experience as a Software Engineer (Fullstack).
* Self-starter attitude comfortable working in an early-stage environment, and adapting to changing customer needs.
* Proficiency in Python (experience in other backend languages a plus!)
* Experience in frontend languages such as React or Javascript.
* Comfort with CI/CD pipelines built with GitHub Actions.
* Experience with SQL, and database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
* Familiarity with AWS, RDS, ECR, ECS, EC2s, and more
* Excellent communication skills to engage in-depth technical discussions with both the engineering team and business team.
### Nice to Haves:
* BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field; Master’s or PhD degree is a plus; or equivalent experience.
* Experience with distributed processing of big data using Spark.
* Experience with system architecture, design patterns, and scalable performance optimization.
* Technical foresight in predicting and addressing potential issues in the tech stack, while also balancing what gets the job done today.
* Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools and processes.
* Understanding of data security regulations and best practices.
* Project management and organizational skills.
